Join a menopause doctor, exercise physiologist and a dietitian for a plain-English evening on what's happening to your body and what you can do next.

Why peri and menopause affect your muscles, bones, sleep and energy
What to eat more of (and less of) in this season
How to strength train safely if you have pain, injuries or just don't know what to do
Plus, you will have time to ask the questions you've been needing to ask in a small room, not a rushed consult
Only 30 seats. Once they are gone, they are gone.
If you don't leave with at least three clear changes you can make, email us and we'll refund your ticket.
You're noticing changes in sleep, mood, weight or strength and wondering, "is this just me?"
You feel tired and lethargic and want to know what you should be eating and drinking to best support you.
You want to exercise but don't know what to do or are worried about making things worse.
You leave medical appointments with more questions than you walked in with.
A clear picture of what's actually happening in peri and menopause, beyond hot flushes
Food changes that support your hormones, bones and energy
Three to five strength exercises that are safe starting points for your body
A simple plan for what to do in the next 30 days
Nibbles and refreshments included throughout
Menopause: More than hot flushes (Dr Emily Watters, GP): what's normal, what's not, and when to ask for help.
Feel like yourself again: Nutrition to restore energy from peri to post menopause (Lizalet Oosthuizen, Accredited Practising Dietitian). Why your body responds differently to food now, the real reason for weight gain in this transition, and three changes you can start this week.
Why does my face change: Skin, bone and collagen in menopause (Dr Emily Watters, GP): the science behind the changes you see in the mirror, in plain English.
Strength training when you don't feel strong: Starting or restarting stregnth training safely even if you are in pain, have injuries or are worried about doing things right (Mitchell Vautin, Exercise Physiologist). What to do, how to start, and why it's not too late.
Open Q&A: ask all three of us anything (Emily, Lizalet and Mitchell): The questions you haven't had time to ask in a 15-minute consult.

A specialist general practitioner with a focus on women's hormonal health, menopause, metabolic medicine and medical aesthetics. Emily founded Pause Medical Specialists to bring evidence-based menopause care, with Medicare rebates, to practices across Australia. She's a firm believer that women do best when their GP, dietitian and exercise physiologist work as one team.

An exercise physiologist (a university-qualified health professional who uses tailored exercise to treat and prevent health problems) who has spent ten years working with women before, during and after menopause. In that time Mitchell has seen too many women arrive after a fracture, wishing someone had put a barbell in their hands decades earlier. He knows it isnt their fault, unfortunately women get steered toward everything but weight training. Mitchell helps make strength training not just possible but enjoyable for women.

A dietitian who works solely with women in perimenopause and beyond. Drawing on lived experience as much as the evidence, Lizalet helps women move from restriction and overwhelm to strength, energy and confidence, using real food and strategies that fit real life.

The evening is at Exercise Healthcare Australia, 458 Enoggera Rd, Alderley QLD 4051. There's free parking at the clinic (14 bays) and plenty of street parking on Elgin St and nearby side streets. We'll include a simple map and parking tips in your confirmation email so you're not circling the block at 5:55pm.
No. Many women start noticing changes in their late 30s and early 40s, even before periods change. If you're curious, confused, or want to get ahead of bone and muscle changes before they become a problem, this evening is for you. You don't need to be in the thick of it for this to be useful.
It's not too late. Bone, muscle and balance can improve with the right exercise and nutrition at any age. If you're post-menopause and want to stay strong, steady and independent for as long as possible, you'll get a lot from this session. We'll talk about what still changes after menopause and what you can do now.
No one will be selling from the stage. You'll get 90 minutes of plain-English education and time for questions. If you decide you'd like more support afterwards, you can book a full initial exercise physiology assessment at the front desk on your way out, using the $54 credit in your goody bag. If you just want to learn and leave, that's completely fine.
You're welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member. Just email us their name before 12pm on the day and we'll update the list. If you can't find someone to take your place, email us and we'll move your $27 ticket to credit toward an initial assessment at EHA Alderley, valid for 30 days from the event date.
Yes, absolutely. Each person needs their own ticket so we can keep numbers capped at 30 and make sure there's a seat (and a goody bag) for everyone. Booking for two or more? Just purchase multiple tickets under your name and we'll confirm everyone by email.
